  • Alright, I will be writing about the CASA Banquet today…2 days too late…but what do you want from me?  WHAT?!

Well, I started getting ready at like 4 pm (with a shower), and after a little break, I did my hair, makeup, and got dressed.  Brian picked me up at like 5:40, and we left for The Castaway, this fancy-ish restaurant in the mountains.

Brian got a little lost but eh, we were like the first people there, so we just dilly-dallied around until Tiff came with her “date,” Gary.  We did the usual, hug, “you look so good!” thing, and then we took some pictures with…each other…and this purple fire hydrant.  Okay.  It sounds weird, but it is PURPLE!  How often do you see a PURPLE FIRE HYDRANT?

We walked a little to the side and looked out at the view.  The sunset was beautiful…but not as beautiful as the roads and the golf courses also situated on the mountain (sarcasm).

When we were finally allowed into the ballroom, we walked around and found a table.  We talked for a while, and some of the couples took pictures.  And guess who got drunk first?  Greg, Tiff and my CASA dad.  There was a bar in there, they didn’t card, and they took credit, so the liquor began to flow.

I had chicken for dinner (so-called almond chicken with brie, even though I tasted no traces of almonds or brie, so now I’m beginning to question whether or not I even ate chicken).  After dinner they served us NY Cheesecake with Raspberry coulis and coffee.  I drank a little coffee, but only enough to keep me coherent…don’t want a coffee addiction…don’t want brown teeth…

After a few speeches, notably a heartwarming one by Amy (the current CASA president who is THE NICEST PERSON I’VE EVER MET) and a confusing one by Papa Greg who was quite drunk (“the most important thing to remember is to always have fun; whenever I’m not having fun, I have to ask myself, “why aren’t I having fun?”  Riiiight.) we found out that Tiffanie and Jessie both made it on e-board!  Hurrah!

And then they started dancing.  Which was slightly uncomfortable, so B and I left.  We had to abandon poor Tiff who was being coerced into dancing…sadness.  We made a quick detour to B’s house so I could get my Spirited Away DVD back.  I watched it again when I got home, and then went to bed.

Spent the rest of the weekend doing homework.  Eh.
